Get him in

This looks as if it cud well turn out to be the biggest transfer of the winter as speculation grows of a three-way battle for the services of Saido Berahino.

Stoke and Newcastle were said to have made bids last night and Tottenham are still keen according to The Mirror, who say that the player still prefers a move to North London:

Newcastle had a £21m bid turned down on Sunday, Stoke are also in the hunt and Tottenham are set to make a late move before the winter window closes on Monday night.

Berahino, 22, wants to move to Tottenham, and their chairman Daniel Levy will enter the bidding given any encouragement.

There have been many discussions on this page of late with regards Tottenham and Berahino. We are firmly in the pro-Berahino camp. We believe that his signing would almost guarantee Champions League football for Spurs next season.

This is a 22-year-old who has been so frustrated in his recent career. His hunger to get on the park for his new club and succeed will be massive and it could spur Tottenham to that all-important top four finish.

Who knows? They could even form a title bid on the back of his injection of goals.

He remains something of a divisive character but we feel that Tottenham would not regret signing him. He’s a talented and hard-working athlete with a super eye for goal.

Let’s take a look at him in action.

Spurs fans: a great potential signing or would you sooner spend your money elsewhere?
