Tottenham are reportedly keen to make a final bid for Saido Berahino next week.

The Mirror is one of the British media outlets who report that a big bid could still go in for the pacy striker.

Tottenham plan final transfer bid for West Brom’s Saido Berahino despite just landing a striker

Fulham young-gun Moussa Dembele will be loaned back to the Cottagers until the summer so Spurs still need someone to take the burden off Harry Kane

He’s a player that we have spoken much about in relation to Tottenham and he has also drawn polemic opinions from the Spurs fans.

As regular readers will know we think he would be a superb addition for Tottenham.

Even if he doesn’t find his feet and best form straight away, or even for the remainder of the season, he offers that vital quality of pace to a squad – and bags of it.

Berahino would gladly play on either wing if asked to and he can also fill in for Harry Kane at number 9 to give the star man a much-needed rest at a crucial time of the year.

A fresh Kane could fire Tottenham to The Champions League place that they definitely deserve on form this season.

So we think that Spurs would be pulling off a masterstroke if they did bring in the young Englishman – he could prove to the difference between Champions League and Europa League come August.

Let’s see some more of his best bits.

Spurs fans: worth pushing the boat out for?

It’s not Spurs fans, or Pochettino you need to convince, or even Tony Pulis! The problem will lie with the attitude of Jeremy Peace. Berahino’s form has not been good this season but there are reasons for that and they are temporary. We have seen Dembele’s form dip in the past, we’ve seen Lamela not playing at his best since coming to Spurs (until fairly recently) and even Gareth Bale took an age to get up to speed in a Spurs shirt. So Berahino would flourish under Pochettino I’m sure. Unfortunately, Jeremy Peace won’t budge on selling him to Tottenham unless they offer silly money, and when was the last time Daniel Levy offered silly money for a player?

Peace has painted himself into a corner, and will look like a fool of the worst kind if he sells Berawhocares for anything less that the last offer from Spurs, and who in their right mind is going to offer that sort of money based on what we have seen from him this season. We’ve just got rid of Adebayor. Does anybody think that we really need to sign v.2.0?

So you think Berahino has got loads of pace! If he was to sign for the Spuds you will be MASSIVELY disappointed!

If you think Saido has got ‘bags of pace’ then if he was to sign for the Spuds you will be massively disappointed!
