The New Wardrobe?

Tottenham have seemingly wanted rid of Andros Townsend for some time and it looks as if they have finally got their wish as various reports state that a fee has now been agreed.

The Guardian reports:

Newcastle United have agreed a £12m deal to sign the winger Andros Townsend from Spurs.

And Townsend posted this on Twitter:

It leaves Tottenham with some more cash to spend and they are being linked, in one tabloid, with a move for Victor Wanyama, AKA, The Wardrobe MKII. They say:

Tottenham transfer news: Spurs hope to snap up Victor Wanyama

Despite the odd hiccup, which is to be expected from a young team, Tottenham are looking ever more convincing and it’s increasingly difficult to see them falling out of the top four this season.

But they do perhaps lack a powerful man in the engine room – a player to stay at home while the other you whipper snappers bomb forward like teenagers trying to get their copy of the new PES.

That’s not to say that Wanyama wouldn’t offer his own goal threat for Tottenham – he was known to score a regular thunderbolt for Celtic – but his main job would be to shield the defence and pick forward passes.

He’s a lovely player and one who would no doubt improve Tottenham.

But Spurs will have a serious fight on their hands to snare a player from Southampton in the window as Ronald Koeman is adamant that his key players will remain at the club.

Like Wanyama…still believe Southampton would rather dismember all of their players than sell even a one of them to Spurs/Pochettino.

we need a striker as back up for Harry. Dier’s move to defensive midfield has been a master stroke and some would argue (me included) that he is now better than Wanyama anyway. COYS

Not Berahino, he’s got a poor attitude and simply isn’t that good!

Berahino is simply not good enough to play up front on his own as Harry does. Domenico Berardi from Sassuolo in Italy, who we were linked with a few weeks ago, is the one who fits the bill perfectly. Young, big, powerful, scores, can play in a few positions and has good experience for his age.
Wanyama as another DCM. Need another decent CB to replace Fazio who should be off this window. CHAMPIONS….COYS!!
