Tottenham weighing up bid for another creative gem – is this to be their main winter signing?

Great feet

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino continues to keep his cards close to his chest in this window but another forward surely wouldn’t go amiss. To that end, Sky Sports reports today:

Tottenham are weighing up whether to meet the €12m release clause in Sandro Ramirez’s contract at Barcelona.

Apparently the deal could hinge on whether Barcelona are permitted to include a buy back clause in the contract of the player – if true this would speak volumes about Barca’s faith in the youngster – and Tottenham are reluctant to agree.

Sandro would be another frighteningly promising young creator to come into a Tottenham team which has found a strong identity again after years of managerial changes.

Mauricio Pochettino has opted not to fight it out with bigger clubs to sign the best of the current crop and instead ploughed the youth market with great success.

Sandro’s contract runs until 2017 but perhaps he feels that now is the time to get some more first team experience.

He’s still only 20 but he has played an impressive 30 times for Barcelona and scored 7 goals since his breakthrough last season while the club awaited the end of Luis Suarez’ suspension.

But he once more finds himself behind Messi, Suarez and Neymar in the pecking order and the 5ft 9in forward has been persistently linked with a move.

If he does rock up at Tottenham expect great technique, quick feet and a player who knows nothing else but to attack.

Even if Spurs could get him on loan for a season we think that, while not ideal, it’s a deal worth doing.

Let’s see some of his better moments in the still formative stages of his career.

Spurs fans: worth the effort to bring him in?
