This is a potentially juicy little titbit for Manchester United fans.
After playing out of his skin for the last 18 months, Lazio playmaker Felipe Anderson has suddenly started putting in substandard performances, according to his coach who was clearly unimpressed with his latest outing.
Lazio boss Stefano Pioli said after the goalless draw with Carpi:
“I believe he can do a lot more. I know it and he knows it,”
“I had to change him because I’m the coach and I have to make decisions. But for the first 45 minutes I don’t think it was fair to focus everything on one player, I wanted the whole team to play with more rhythm and intensity.”
And the report also quotes respected Italian media outlet, Gazetta Dello Sport, who described his performance by saying “The extent of his apathy was irritating.”
Other rumours today suggest that the player is holding out for a bonus before he leaves. This strikes us as ludicrous considering that he has only been at the club for two years and arguably wants to leave for Manchester United!
Either way, it is potentially good news for United. After 18 months of buying a lot of defenders and defenisve midfielders it’s time for LvG to have some fun with forwards and Manchester United can only improve as a consequence.
Let’s take a look at the brilliant playmaker, strongly linked with Manchester United, in action.
