Manchester United held talks with the agent of Lazio playmaker Felipe Anderson on Tuesday, according to Guardian journalist Ed Aarons.
Aarons Tweeted on Wednesday morning (GMT):
Felipe Anderson’s agent was in England yesterday to meet officials from Manchester United. No official bid made yet
The signing of Anderson would be a real coup for Manchester United who many felt would struggle to add genuine quality to their side in January.
But Anderson, 22, is just that. He usually plays on the left of a forward line but is very adaptable and can do a job in the hole or on the right side.
He made his debut for Brazil this year and hit 11 goals in 37 games last season as he rose to prominence. He has 5 goals in 19 games in this campaign and there is a strong feeling that this speculation has substance.
Manchester United currently lie in 5th place in The Premier League, 9 points behind leaders Arsenal and 3 away from Tottenham in the last of the Champions League places.
