Solid

If Tom Huddlestone is The Wardrobe then Victor Wanyama has to be The Welsh Dresser. But one with made with better wood and far more drawers and gadgets than The Wardrobe.

No idea where that was going.

But latest repots suggest that Tottenham will now turn their attention to the brilliant Kenyan.

Still only 24 we were a little surprised that he went to Southampton instead of a football giant when he moved from Celtic in 2013.

But he’s been superb on the south coast and we can’t help thinking that he is exactly what Tottenham needs right now.

The Spurs midfield looks a bit lightweight and we would be amazed if the window closed without another addttion in the engine room.

The 6ft 2in Kenyan, of some 31 caps, would add the physical edge the the centre of the park – this guy is a solid tackler and a good athlete – but he also has really nice feet and can make things happened with his passing.

It’s difficult to see how Tottenham wouldn’t be greatly improved by signing Wanyama.

The big issue will be with his club, who seem intent on holding on to the rest of their squad. Ronald Koeman said in his weekly press conference:

“Listen, there is no bid for any player. Not for Wanyama, not for Sadio, not anyone,” Koeman said.

“There is no contact and no bid for nobody and we don’t sell any more players. That is very clear in my opinion. I don’t like [these rumours] because maybe players are thinking and they are not then focused on what they have to do.

Let’s take look at the lad in action.

Tottenham fans: no brainer?
