As we reported yesterday, Manchester United have already offloaded eight players this summer with three more likely to follow them out of the door before too long.
One of those 3 looks likely to be Robin van Persie who now seems destined to leave Old Trafford after three mixed seasons at the club.
Recent rumours have suggested that Real Madrid may come in for the Manchester United star but, at the moment, it looks as if his most likely destination will be Fenerbahce in Turkey.
Sky Sports states:
Fenerbahce are confident of completing a deal to sign Manchester United striker Robin van Persie, according to Sky sources.
Apparently the director the the Turkish outfit has been in England to discuss the finer points of the deal. And Fenerbahce’s new signing, Nani, had some words of encouragement for the potential move. He said:
“I haven’t had the chance to talk with Robin van Persie yet,” Nani said. “But if he comes to Fenerbahce, I am sure that he will be very successful.
“I know Robin very well and it would be the right decision if Fenerbahce sign him.”
At 31, Van Persie has lost a little pace but still has lead in the pencil. But, like Cech at Chelsea, RvP is too good to sit on the bench and will want to be getting game time every week as he attempts to enjoy his last couple of seasons in the game.
With RvP and Falcao gone the next question will obviously be – who will Manchester United sign next?
