He’s 20 years old, he’s represented by Supernoodle Jorge Mendes and there is a trickle of speculation that Manchester United may be interested in taking the lad to Old Trafford.

João Pedro Cavaco Cancelo is a Benfica player who is currently on loan at Valencia, where a local media outlet has picked up on the potential Manchester United interest.

The Metro reports:

Manchester United are reportedly asking super-agent Jorge Mendes to help them complete a transfer deal for Portuguese right-back Joao Cancelo.

Manchester United spent a fortune on their left side last summer and it now looks sorted for years, with the likes of Shaw, Rojo, Blind and Di Maria. The same can not be said of the right flank and it will surely see similar investment this summer.

Antonio Valencia is good but not great. Meanwhile the future of Rafael da Silva is very uncertain after another season of impetuous form and injury. Beyond that you could pop Phil Jones or Paddy McNair in the full back role. But that’s about it. The idea of signing Nathaniel Clyne makes a lot of sense but perhaps Louis will also go for another young buck who can fight for a place and grow into the side over time. Having played at every youth level for Portugal he looks like a good prospect.

Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Manchester United fans: do you like what you see?
