It’s been a bumpy ride so far. But we have always been fans of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino and feel that the club isn’t too far away from doing some serious damage in this league.

Yes they need to sort out the defence to a degree. But one excellent addition could make all the difference to a back line which certainly isn’t without talent.

But if they bought another striker in January we feel that they might really make a push for the top four come May. Harry Kane has exceeded all expectations and, in yet another example of how unpredictable football can be, he is without question the top striker at Tottenham now.

But he needs some help. Roberto Soldado’s ridiculous miss in the week was yet another portent as to his future, or lack of, at the club. And Emmanuel Adebayor is surely on his way out in the summer.

The Daily Mail today reports that Tottenham representatives have scouted an excellent looking Colombian striker with a view to a January move.

Spurs representatives have been to Spain to watch the Colombia striker this season with a view to a move this month.
The 28-year-old has impressed for Sevilla, scoring 11 goals for the La Liga club this season.

The 28 year old Sevilla man has scored a remarkable 174 goals in 331 club games and 6 in 15 for Colombia – he;s essentially a 1 in 2 man.

Let’s take a look at the lad action. Tottenham fans if you grand design one player this winter would it be a defender or a striker?

Great. Just like Soldado looked. I just hope we do not get another player with no EPL experience when we could buy Charlie Austin at what would prove to be a bargain price. Look no further.

Austin or Ings would never be sold in Jan due to their teams fighting to stay in the EPL. Bacca is a proven scorer and you just have to watch his games with Columbia to see he has what it takes. He was pivotal in Sevilla winning Europa so would be a great addition for Spurs as a backup

Bacca is not the answer. Another Soldado. Might as well keep Soldado- who had two very good quality assists against Burnley and did have a misstrike on a midair cross. The adjective “ridiculous” would probably be better applied to the wouldbe journalist who penned the article. Let’s add Ings,or Benteke, or Balotelli – capable strikers with EPL experience. ADE must go but Kane + Soldado + one with provide a sound strike force.
