Latest reports in Spain state that Manchester United will take up the €50m option that they have on Colombian striker Radamel Falcao ‘in the coming days’.

Having been strongly linked with Real Madrid last summer, and being one of the biggest names in world football, Marca has been closely following the progress of the player for the last year or so.

And they have reported that Manchester United are ready to make the deal permanent even though the player has suffered with niggling injuries since joining the club.

Leaders Manchester United have it decided. In the coming days they will execute the option of Radamel Falcao that closed at the time of the sale last August 31. The amount of the transaction goes up to 50 million euros, of which the English club has already paid 10 million euros last market day last summer.

Falcao has made 11 appearances, many of which have been off the bench, and got an injury to his calf just weeks after making his debut for Manchester United. This kept him out for another month but he has returned looking more hungry for success than ever and his game is improving by the week.

Falcao has a goal scoring record that compares favourably with pretty much every other top level footballer in the world and if Manchester United can get him fit and firing they will have an absolute world-beater on their hands.

But, if these reports have substance, it appears that Manchester United have already taken a descent to make the deal permanent.
