Liverpool seem hellbent on signing a left back this summer and, with the deal for Alberto Moreno seemingly stagnating they reportedly made a bid for Swansea’s Ben Davies this week. The bid was rejected, says The Telegraph and Tottenham have wasted no time in bettering it.
In fact, The Telegraph reports this afternoon that Swansea have accepted a bid of £10m from Tottenham for the signature of the player. They say:
Tottenham agree £10m fee with Swansea for Ben Davies but Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is weighing up improved offer for Wales international
The source says that Liverpool are considering an improved bid for the player even though they are reportedly still in the hunt for Alberto Moreno.
You might imagine that the lure of Champions League football would be a big attraction for the 21 year old. The fact that Liverpool is geographically closer to Swansea may also be seen as a determining factor.
But Swansea have reportedly been unhappy with the way that Liverpool have conducted their business in relation to another Reds target, Wilfried Bony, and may prefer to do a deal with Tottenham.
Davies has been a revelation for Swansea during their time in The Premier League. At 21 he’s already played 84 times for Swansea, scoring 3 goals. He’s also turned out 10 times for the Wales national side.
Whichever way this one goes it looks as if it’s coming to a head pretty quickly and will be resolved one way or the other imminently.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Tottenham fans: is this guy the long term answer to the problem left-back position?

Why is it that people think players will prefer Liverpool. Run down areas with drugs, gun, knife and theft problems. A smallish city with a none too great centre and none too great nightlife. Everyone imagines they are a comedian and it’s dull.
Or would people rather go to London? Some of the World’s top restaurants, dining, theatre and much more.
No brainer.

Ha ha, you really are an ignoramus that needs to do a little more research and get your facts straight before you post unfounded statements with no basis in fact. Liverpool has one of the lowest crime ( even lower violent crime ) rates in the country. It attracts many thousands every week to its vibrant city centre and night life. Talking to and interacting with people from all backgrounds, as well as having a sharp humour does not necessarily mean that they are ‘comedians’, merely sociable and approachable; something sadly lacking in the emotionless, unfriendly and ignorant London

Yes but recent history has shown players choosing spurs over Liverpool hence the Liverpool “comedians” tiresome jokes/bleats that spurs haven’t got a scouting network of their own. Liverpool are no longer at the top table.
