With just five weeks to go until the new season begins Tottenham need to start their transfer business quickly. We think that, once the floodgates are open, then they will sign several players in a short period of time.
And reports today suggest that Tottenham have joined a growing list of suitors for the signature of the brilliant French international Antoine Griezmann.
The Real Sociedad winger is only 23 but has five full seasons in La Liga under his belt and has really blossomed over the last couple of years.
He muscled his way into the French squad in time for The World Cup and has scored three goals in just eight appearances as an international so far.
He reminds us a little bit of Xherdan Shaqiri in as much as he’s a quick player with a low cent of gravity who likes to take as direct a route to goal as possible.
As a winger he’s got a great delivery and a super left foot, but he loves to drift infield and has scored loads of goals for club and country – 52 in 201 in La Liga.
The Metro says that Tottenham could make a £24m (30.3m Euro) bid for him:
Tottenham are considering meeting Antoine Griezmann’s £24million release clause after joining the race for the winger’s signature.
Griezmann is one of the most sought after players in the world at the moment after he turned down a new contract with Real Sociedad last week – and asked for a transfer away.
With so many clubs pursuing the player Tottenham may find the chances of signing him limited. Nevertheless he would be an excellent addition to the team, adding pace, trickery and real precision in the final third.
Let’s have a look at the lad in a action. Tottenham fans: is this the sort of player that you should be after?
