So this week we have had intense speculation about:
Luke Shaw – said to be open to a move to Manchester United despite his Chelsea allegiances.
Toni Kroos – Will apparently be offered 260k a week to join Manchester United
Marco Reus – a midfield gem who ex-team mate who wants to move to United according to ex-team mate Mario Gotze.
The Daily Mail says that Manchester United boss David Moyes flew to Lisbon last night to check on three targets:
David Moyes stepped up his quest for summer signings by flying to Lisbon to make a personal check on at least three top transfer targets.
Sportsmail understands the two players under closest review were highly-rated centre-back Eliaquim Mangala and his Porto team-mate Jackson Martinez. In addition, Moyes has also been alerted to the form of Benfica’s on-loan left-back Guilherme Siqueira and was keen to see him in action.
The Mangala idea makes perfect sense. He is a rock of a player who, like Luke Shaw, has his whole career ahead of him Manchester United won’t be put off by an enormous fee. Their biggest concern would be competition for his signature.
Jackson Martinez – a really live wire striker. Will only come in if forwards depart first. Chicharito or RvP perhaps?
Siquiera – A really good left back who Real Madrid also like. But if Manchester United are pursuing him it could mean bad news on the Luke Shaw front.
Let’s see him in action.
