Manchester United will surely be undertaking a big overhaul of players in the summer. As often discussed on this site all areas of the park could do with additions.
The big question, as far as we’re concerned, is whether David Moyes sticks with a 4-4-2 formation going forward. The signing of Juan Mata would suggest that Moyes may well go for a narrower formation next season. Manchester United have high expectations of keeping Wayne Rooney at the club and they won’t want RvP to depart either.
So, unless Mata is going to be wasted out on the right wing, Manchester United need to change their formation to 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.
But if they do retain the same formation then surely more top class wingers are required. Nani is a dead man walking at Manchester United and we would have Ashley Young out of the door even sooner. Shinji Kagawa was never supposed to be a winger and David Moyes arguably isn’t a big fan of Wilfried Zaha right now.
We think that Manchester United should be looking at players like Lucas Moura and Andros Townsend in the summer. But reports today suggest that another tricky winger could be on the move. The Express says:
But according to reports, Pardew is planning a major overhaul of the squad in the summer and Ben Arfa doesn’t appear to be fit in with his long-term vision for the club.
Inter were thought to be keen on Ben Arfa during the January transfer window, but made no attempt to sign him. However, it seems their desire to bring him to the San Siro hasn’t sated.
We have always felt that Ben Arfa was good enough to play for a top Premier League side but just didn’t fit into the system at Newcastle. If he does move in the summer you imagine more than just one club will be interested. And if David Moyes wants to carry on with the traditional formation at Manchester United then he will need to stockpile some wingers.
We think that Ben Arfa would be well worth a punt. He’s quick, precise and has a trick to beat his man. His delivery is good and he scores goals – still only 26, he potentially has his best years ahead of him.
Manchester United fans – is Ben Arfa worth a punt in the summer?

No way for Ben Arfa in Man Utd. We dn’t need him. We want Reus, Vidal, both they will help united to shine again.
