3 top manager options for Manchester United after Moyes

tactics-board1

Riches to rags in 6 months

It’s now time to start seriously assessing the options for Manchester United if the Moyes malaise continues.

Many to most Premier League chairmen would have sacked the manager if they had seen the downturn in results that Manchester United has suffered this season. And it’s not just the results. The performance levels have also plummeted beyond belief.

Yes, there is room for error in this situation, when a new guy comes in after a quarter of a century of success from the predecessor. But this is so much worse than a ‘transitional season’ with a few hiccups. This is a case of riches to rags in 6 months.

So who could take over, while there is still time to get Manchester United into the top 4 and have a decent tilt at The Champions League? Because we honestly can’t see either happening under the current boss.

Sir Alex Ferguson with Red Nev as his lieutenant

If Moyes gets sacked before the end of the season SAF would be the obvious choice to come back in. But that’s not straightforward. We all know about the tension between Sir Alex and Manchester United’s talisman – Wayne Rooney. Should Fergie step into the breach Wazza could be off come May. But, if Gary Neville were to take the hands on approach with the team, with Sir Alex as his mentor in the background, then this begins to look like the most viable alternative to David Moyes. We think that Gary Neville could do a Pep Guardiola at Manchester United. He was a great servant to the club and he’s clearly bright and knowledgeable enough to coach a top team. In our opinion, David Moyes has the wrong brother on the coaching staff at the moment.

Jurgen Klopp – an oft-mooted manager for Manchester United you may think it’s borderline lazy to suggest him. But the reason that he is so often linked with the club is because he arguably has the vision, charisma and tactical nous that Moyes seems to lack and that Manchester United so desperately need. We think that Klopp would thrive with the playing staff at Manchester United where he could employ the same sort of style and formation that has worked so well in Dortmund.

Jurgen Klinsmann – has no affiliation with Manchester United but has all the qualities to succeed. He’s got great intelligence, professionalism and strategic nous. He’s forward thinking in his approach and he’s a great unifier. Under him we might see more cohesion and joy in the team once more. The fact that he’s just extended his contract with USA means that he would be unlikely to leave until after The World Cup.

Here’s one thought……..since Fergie, Bloody Bobby and the Glazers Don’t want to SACK the Moron, then perhaps we can send Moyes and his Merry bunch of Everton Coaches to Football Coaching school perhaps in Germany where they would be thought latest/Modern football tactics and sport science so as to equip them with Modern Day coaching techniques and player fitness programs to RUN a Club such as Man Utd…….Perhaps 2 or 3 years course should do the trick and this Merry bunch can then come back to manage the Club for the remaining 2 to 3 years of their 6 year contract.

Meanwhile engage part-time or interim professionally qualified managers to run the Club like what Chelsea did………….e.g. Candidates like Guus Hiddink, Jupp Heynkes etc.

jurgen klopp, sign him up sign him up. look at how well he’s been thriving at dortmund under a minimal budget. sounds more like sir alex to me, and great tactical awareness. only the dortmund board has failed him by not backing him financially. PLEASE GET JURGEN KLOPP FOR US

Why not sack moyes? Fergie you got it wrong. you should never had made the choice. moyes no experience in champions league no prizes in ten years. we are out of fa, league cup and premier. league already. get out and Jurgen klopp immediately in. You need a world class manager and moyes never will be. Good riddance moyes, you aren’t good enough. Fergie apologise. How dare you!

Ok, so reading this article means that Moyes is given more time to destroy and humiliate Man U further. Can someone not tell the Glazers in American English to get that dumb idiot and his non achieving coaching clowns the hell outa OT and ensure that cannot come within 10 miles of it for the next 100 years. Get SAF back in to sort this shit out he started and start sourcing a world class successful coach for the start of the next season. We have already lost everything on offer this year. The only thing that can still ensure we can pull quality players even though we will not be in CL next year is a coach that is respected globally for his achievements that will make players WANT to join Man U. Moyes does not have the minimum required, only a fat pay packet since his move from Everton. And guess what, he is the only winner right now. We are paying him bucketloads to trash everything that is Man U. I hope the board and Glazers realise that! May the force be with us all until we see the back of Dudsy Moyes and his coaching clowns. The only sense of gratitude I feel with every miserable Man U performance is that it is 1 step closer to seeing DM fired!

they don’t want any non british manager.. to manage manutd.. so klopp wouldn’t join manutd… they rather sink with moyes or appoint another British shit like pardew, redknapp, even beckham… hahaha.. British got no world class manager to coach manutd currently, so they should swallow their pride and sign a world class manager like descent KLOPP

I wonder what the board and the glazer’s are waiting for, its so glaring that Moyes has absolutely no good thing to offer man u other than to distroy the good name utd hav suffer to maintain for so many years. Pls let him go b4 Arsenal game. I belief their is still time for man u top four finish if Moyes is Sack right now.

Reading at all your comments just showed disUNITY within yourself. I’ve been UNITED thru n thru since 1977 FA Cup Final when we best the fools. Not till the early 90’s that we tasted glory n it’s been more than 20 years thereafter. Where were UNITED when SAF took over? How long does it take to him to taste glory? Yup, it’s painful to see UNITED’s plight right now but to judge DM after hardly a season? We’ve been there n done that. I believed we will pull thru. You just have to believe n keep the faith. Forever United

You are aware that Moyes had achieved nothing in 11yrs of coaching ? I thank you for your optimistic and loyal view. I wonder if other giants, who also had to endure long periods of dissapointment before reaching consistence success over the last 3 to 5 yrs wud also replace a successfull coach of defending champions with a NOBODY? Teams like RM, Barca or Bayern for example…………….I don’t think so, they not that naieve and dumb! SAF and the board however seem to have a different vision and objective than the 3 above..as long as they still believe in Moyes! There is time for them to fix things and get rid of Moyes, and that time is NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m hoping DM can pull through and prove all his doubters wrong. It can only be good for himself, coaches, players and club. I’m looking at this from both sides though. SAF was within a game to being fired and then look at what he did. The rest is history. But SAF defied all odds with Aberdeen and broke the tradition of either Celtic or Rangers winning their league previously. Also, yes ok, we had a poor summer window. Other teams had a successful window. They grew stronger, so are champions might have gone into this season not as favorites to win, but they SHOULD be easily holding by this point a comfortable 4th (grit my teeth as I’m saying this) or even 5th place with a squad of last seasons champions we have. As for injuries, being that we didn’t expand our squad, well then DM and co should have looked after the squad a little better then. Most of them have picked up injuries outside of matches. We brought in RVP who is known for being injury prone. Why is it SAF and team knew how to look after him in only their first season in working together. Rio, yes getting old! Injury prone now. But SAF and co knew how to look after him. The players look tired and they haven’t played the amount of games that you’d expect from United. Whether the answer is firing DM or bringing in extra support for him who knows. But as long as the situation stays like this then we can only blame the board for allowing it.

Boss, stop reminding us fergie 10yrs without trophy shit. many things were and are different. Fergie had won the european cup after beating barcelona and many other trophies while at abadeen. Those are enoughcredentials. Remind me about Moyes credentials.

People make mistakes and trust me fergie never looked enough before endorsing this moron.

Zedd, u mention in your statement that where was utd before fergie took over that jst answer why he was tolerated for that long and he realy prove himself since then. So, can u pls answer this question ‘where was man u before your brother DM took over’? Man u was one of the most consistence club in europe for the past yrs. But nw Moyes is about to rubbish all that for us and turn us to evrybody’s bonus. You talk about disunity u re a great liar we ‘re the most united club in the world that is why we’re still delebrating, if it were other club Moyes would have forgotten working for man u. So, pls get another job for moyes if you so like him with his badluck thanks. Moyes must go now!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah let’s drop everything that has made us successful over the last 26 years; let’s sack the coach at the first possible instance and let’s fade into mediocrity like Liverpool did. Hopefully you can sense my tone of sarcasm. What we have is a bunch of immature football players that are underperforming because they aren’t playing for the manager they expected to be and it’s about time they took responsibility and started playing for Manchester United and our fans. It’s simple if they don’t want to play sell them and buy players that do; simples!

  25. Nik

    Feb 11, 2014 at 8:14 pm

….oh and for all you so called United fans posting on here; if you knew anything about United you would know that Ferguson under performed for the first 3 years and he didn’t win the league for 6 and look where that ended up taking us?

It should be Gary Neville , fresh start , he has an exceptional talent in seeing strategy and tactics very intelligent (you can tell this from his analysis on sky). He has drive and passion and would have most of the players on side having won multiple premier leagues and more, and being part of the england setup as a player and now assistant. He would know everyone in the club already and instantly have respect there in the setup… I think he has the coaching badges … I would be happy with this appointment
