Tottenham installed as EPL favourites to sign 72 cap forward this week

Nani: Frighteningly good but not very often

Winger on the move?

It’s been a crazy day for Tottenham on the transfer rumour front. We thought that their transfer window was going to dribble to a close without any major arrivals.

But today has been awash with stories linking two players, in particular, with a move to Tottenham. The first was a reported bid for snout smoking ex-legend Dimitar Berbatov. The second also pertained to a player with Manchester United connections.

There has been no official word form either club that there is any substance to the tale. But speculation has intensified this afternoon about Tottenham making a bid for Nani. The idea is apparently to take him on loan until the end of the season.

With the news SkyBet immediately made Tottenham Premier League favourites for the signature of the winger. Inter are still outright favourites at 1/2 but, until this afternoon, Tottenham weren’t even listed in the odds. They now sit as 7/2 second favourites and we think that those odds could come in again before too long.

Having watched Nani play many times we can say this. He is capable of skill that would not only make your jaw drop but that very few players in the world are capable of. He can beat a man from a standing start and has some super tricks in the locker. But he seems to be a player who fails when he has time to think about what he’s doing.

Instinctively he’s great but, let him dwell on the ball and he will regularly make the wrong decision.

Still, he’s worth a punt for the few moments of sheer brilliance that Tottenham fans would likely get out of him.

Let’s see the guy in action. Tottenham fans, would you like to see Nani at Spurs or would you rather he continues to clog up the wing at United?
