BREAKING: Tottenham ‘negotiating’ for Manchester United star

Nani: Frighteningly good but not very often

Shock late deal?

Just as we thought that Tottenham were out of the market for the rest of the window, the rumour mill kicks into overtime again.

Earlier on today we reported on rumours that Tottenham were lining up a bid for Dimitar Berbatov. Now another story is suggesting that Tottenham may sign a high profile winger in the window.

A Bola reports today that Spurs are making a late bid for Manchester United winger Nani:

The Portuguese international Nani (Manchester United) is a highly coveted player in the winter market and Tottenham are the latest club to show interest in having the athlete.

According to Le 10 Sport, the manager of Manchester United, David Moyes, will be available to loan Nani to Tottenham, which is negotiating with officials from the red devils.

Only this morning, The Daily Mail stated that Nani was Italy bound in a deal to take him to Inter on loan.

The Manchester United winger has had some moments of true ingenuity during his six year stint at the club. But he hasn’t had the consistency that would have made him into a true superstar at Manchester United. He has all the raw materials to be a top talent but, too often, he makes poor decisions.

Nonetheless there is serious talent there and perhaps a change of scenery and a new manager can coax the best out of the player.

Nani has been an ever present on the international scene playing 72 times for Portugal and scoring 14 times. He has played 224 times for Manchester United, finding the net on 41 occasions.

This season has been blighted by injury for the player but he is expected back from a muscle strain in the next fortnight.

Tottenham fans – would Nani be a welcome addition?

After all the hassle we’ve had from Levy over the years when negotiating with Spurs, I highly doubt we’d be willing to do him any favours…..
