If reports are to be believed Tim Sherwood is doing a bit of streamlining over the January window. While Jermain Defoe is off to MLS side Toronto players like Etienne Capoue and Lewis Holtby have been the subject of much speculation about their futures over the last weeks.
We think that Holtby is a really good player and a loan move may be a more sensible option for Tottenham to see if the lad progresses with more minutes under his belt.
As for Capoue. Well he seems like a decent player. He enjoyed a good start at Tottenham but injury deprived him of his spot in the team and there is speculation that Napoli want him in January.
As for Defoe, he’s always drawn varied opinions about his worth to Tottenham and didn’t always get the game time commensurate with a top player during either stint at the club.
So Tottenham’s main business in January may be for outgoing players. But one pro who may come into the club this month is Nottingham Forest keeper Karl Darlow. Darlow spent 8 years at Aston Villa before moving to Forest in 2006. The 22 year old spent has since spent a few years out on loan but is a highly regarded young player.
The English born player was asked to play for the Wales national side but declined the opportunity. Darlow is eligible for Wales through his grandad who was part of the 1958 World Cup squad that travelled to Sweden.
Bookmakers Bet Victor have made Tottenham odds on favourites for the signature of the player if he does move in January.
Let’s have a look at the player in action. Tottenham fans – good move?

So, by my maths, he signed for Villa when he was 6 then?
