With 11 days to go until the winter window opens much of the transfer talk at Tottenham understandably pertains to managers. Who will take the reigns from the hapless AVB?

Well, at this stage, most reports talk of denials rather than deals. The Independent today says that Southampton’s brilliant young manager Mauricio Pochettino has not been approached.

Saints’ Argentinian manager had been widely touted as a potential replacement for Andre Villas-Boas at White Hart Lane.

But the 41-year-old Southampton boss confirmed no-one from Tottenham has been in touch.

Meanwhile the BBC reported yesterday that Swansea had ‘played down’ talk Micheal Laudrup joining Spurs:

Swansea have played down concerns that Michael Laudrup could leave the club to take over as manager at Tottenham.

City boss Laudrup is among those being touted to succeed Andre Villas-Boas, who was sacked by Spurs on Monday, in the wake of a 5-0 defeat by Liverpool.

For the record we think both of those guys would be mustard at Tottenham.

The Daily Star says Tottenham have a shortlist of two:

Tottenham have drawn up a double Dutch back-up plan as they search for a new job.

Feyenoord chief Ronald Koeman is on Spurs’ radar, as is Ajax boss Frank De Boer.

In terms of player transfers West Ham are favourites with SkyBet to sign Emmanuel Adebayor in the winter window. The benched star saw game time in The Carling Cup but big doubts remain about his future at Tottenham.

Meanwhile the seldom understated Sports Direct News says that the club are after Roma wonder kid Dodo:

Although Tottenham are now without a permanent manager, Baldini is still eyeing up potential January deals, and could raid his old club Roma for a second time for the signing of Brazilian youngster Dodo.

The 21-year-old left-back has not always been a regular for Rudi Garcia’s side this season, but looks a good prospect in what has been something of a problem position for Spurs.

We shall keep you updated as the window draws near.
