There will be lots of comings and going this summer in what has become a season of revolving doors at Tottenham in recent times.

Daniel Levy has finally got it right on the management front this time after a few years of chopping and changing. We think that Mauricio Pochettino will be a brilliant appointment.

In terms of the playing staff Tottenham need to increase their firepower. Emmanuel Adebayor did well this season but isn’t seen as a long term solution. And Roberto Soldado hasn’t fired on all cylinders. Beyond that there isn’t a lot in terms of senior quality at the club.

This is certainly not the forward line of a Champions League outfit and Tottenham really need to address this in the summer months.

One player who has been linked for some time and can certainly do a job, in terms of putting the ball in the net, is Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez.

Even as a peripheral member of the Manchester United squad Hernandez has scored goals on a regular basis and has a magnificent 35 goals in 58 games for Mexico as an international.

Hernandez is an out and out goalscorer. He’s not the most creative player in the world – so he needs good service to prosper – but he works his socks off, has a great eye for goal and leads the line well.

If Spurs could do a deal for Chicharito they should snap the hand off Manchester United. It remains to be seen how new manager, Louis van Gaal, will view the Mexican’s chances at Old Trafford.

But the player no longer seems happy to play second fiddle at Old Trafford and Tottenham should definitely make the enquiry this summer because he could be a really crucial member of the Tottenham squad next season if they are to have serious designs on getting into the top four.

SkyBet has Tottenham as clear favourites to sign the player in this window at odds of 7/4.

Let’s see him in action. Tottenham fans: would Chicharito do the business at Spurs?
