Manchester United fans are hoping for serious investment in the squad this summer and, with almost two months of the window to go, we remain positive about their prospects of bringing in some top players.
But they are clearly intent on clearing the decks too. They have been quietly getting on with disposing of 8 players and we expect at least two more departures before the season starts. We take a look at the departures so far:
Tom Cleverley
His contract wasn’t renewed by Manchester United. Moved to Everton.
Angelo Henriquez
Moved to Dynamo Zagreb with the transfer confirmed this week.
Ben Amos
Spent over a decade at the club but couldn’t break through into the first team. Moved to Bolton after successful loan spell.
Saidy Janko
Moved to Celtic after failing to make an impression on the first team.
Luis Nani
Sold to Fenerbahce for around £4.3m – he started his career well at Manchester United but never found real consistency and dropped off badly over the last few years.
Tom Thorpe, Callum Evans, Ryan McConnell – also released by the club.
TO GO?
Chicharito
Broke his collar bone last week but many still expect him to leave Manchester United this summer.
RvP
All sorts of rumours flying around with this lad at the moment and it looks more likely that he will leave than stay at this point.
Rafa da Silva
We kind of hope that he says but his future at Old Trafford is in doubt.
