Colombia’s national team manager reckons that it’s only a matter of time before his star striker, Radamel Falcao, does the business at Manchester United. Falcao, who has scored a creditable 21 in 54 games for Colombia, and a magnificent 203 in 318 games at club level across 5 countries, has struggled to adapt at Manchester United off the back of a serious injury sustained at the beginning of 2014.

But Jose Pekerman says it’s simply a matter of when not if Falcao starts firing. ESPN reports:

“It’s a tough stage for him but he is a proven player mentally and he is only going to get stronger,” Pekerman told Caracol Radio in Uruguay in response to recent comments from United manager Louis van Gaal about the player’s mettle. “I have faith that this too shall pass and he is going to emerge victorious, I have no doubt.”

We have no doubt in the ability of the player either. His touch has been a bit off but that will return. Most importantly, he doesn’t seem to have lost a lot of pace since the injury.

But, with only a few months left of the season to prove himself, he may still find that time runs out before he shows what he can really do in a Manchester United shirt.

We are still backing him to be on fire by the end of the season and become Manchester United’s top scorer next campaign. He’s just too good to be kept down for much longer and there were signs, against QPR, of his from returning.

Let’s see the unbelievable goals collection of his again – this has to be one of the best individual highlights packages of all time.

Manchester United fans: do you still have faith in the lad?
