Report: Manchester United target these outstanding signings as revenues remain high

Clyne - Power, athleticism and precision

Classy trio

Manchester United are the second richest club in the world according to latest reports, with The Daily Mail writing:

Manchester United could overtake Real Madrid in the next two years

United had a revenue of £423.8million last season, second behind Madrid

And of course any report about cash wouldn’t complete without some speculation about how it’s going to be spent. The same source reckons that Manchester United are apparently looking to sign these three players, who would surely stop the rot at the defensive end of the team.

Kevin Strootman

It’s all gone a bit quiet with regards the Dutch midfielder and a move to Manchester United. But the Daily Mail suggests that he is still high on the wanted list of Louis van Gaal and that he will come to the club sooner or later. With the imperious Michael Carrick now 33 you would imagine that Strootman would be the long-term successor as the midfield general for Manchester United.

Mats Hummels

If Manchester United sign anyone this January then we think Hummels would be the best bet. He is exactly what United are lacking in the defence – that is a real leader with great feet and composure. He also has the passing ability missing from the back line since the departure of Rio Ferdinand.

Nathaniel Clyne

A fairly recent arrival in the Manchester United rumour mills. Clyne is a speed demon who could tear up that right flank and offer defensive solidity as well as attacking threat. We think that he would be a wonderful signing for the club.

Let’s see Clyne in action. Manchester United fans: perfect additions?
