Tottenham are preparing for Bayern Munich to launch a bid for Eric Dier, according to the Sun.
The England midfielder has had an impressive couple of seasons at Spurs and impressed for his national side at the European Championships, albeit not in the final game against Iceland.
Dier was taught his football abroad, which has led to fears that he would excel in the Bundesliga.
The 22-year-old is a key part of Spurs’ midfield and they absolutely cannot afford to lose him.
New Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti is bringing about a new era at the Allianz arena, and Dier could be a part of that.
However, it would surely take a ridiculous fee for Spurs to allow Dier to leave.
Munich want him because of his versatility and ability to play both in midfield and in defence, but those attributes are also valued by Mauricio Pochettino.
Dier’s growing reputation makes it inevitable that big clubs will show interest in him, but Spurs are growing themselves, so he may well want to continue being a part of that project.
