Manchester United are rumoured to be hours away from completing the signing of Alexander Dragovich from Dynamo Kyiv.

The 24-year-old centre back is an Austrian international with 38 caps and 1 goal for his country and The Daily Express writes:

Manchester United set to secure £16m defender signing in ‘the next few hours’

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly close to securing the signing of Aleksandar Dragovic.

Of course this may be nothing more than conjecture – don’t shoot the messenger – but after another performance at the back against Newcastle in the 3-3 draw on Tuesday, and Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo suffering regular injuries again this season, it is easy to imagine that Manchester United are keen to bolster their back line.

Manchester United’s decent defensive record is arguably deceptive. It may be as much to do with a defensive line up as great defenders.

Indeed Daley Blind has been shoehorned into centre back to utilise his passing ability and despite his best season for the club, Chris Smalling again looked clumsy on Tuesday evening.

The 6ft 1in Dragovich has the look of a Nemamja Vidic – a no-nonsense defender who will leave bruises on the shins of many an opponent and perhaps toughen up a Manchester United defence which has benefited form having two defensive midfielders in front of them for much of the season.

While this has brought a measure of defensive solidity, it has also made Manchester United toothless in attack and it’s a situation which really has to be addressed.

Dragovic has played 58 times for Kyiv since moving for FC Basel in 2013.

Let’s see him in action.

Comment: thank so much now to me immediate signing is needed to assist defence and striking line become very important when injury occured and that’s why Utd was beaten many time and by bringing the two, Cavani and Dragovic can help very much so seriousness is needed to restore champion back
