With so much speculation in every window, it’s not always easy to know whether there is substance to a particular rumour.
But, while the Felipe Anderson to Manchester United, may not have gathered any pace over the weekend, we did at least get some feedback from his club and the player himself about a potential.
While Lazio sporting director confirmed that Manchester United made a 50m Euro offer on August 27th, the player himself admitted in Saturday night that he wasn’t sure where his future lay.
“My future? I don’t know if I’ll stay in January, I’m focused only on my work because I don’t live a good moment. I don’t know what happens,”
Anderson has scored 5 goals in 20 games for his club this season and there has been persistent speculation in January that he will make a move to a struggling Manchester United outfit.
But United will clearly have to dig deep as the Lazio have stated that they rejected higher bids than the 50m that Louis van Gaal’s team offered in the summer.
Manchester United will hope that Ed Woodward will show some decisiveness on this one because, based on Saturday’s performance against Sheffield United in the FA Cup, they are desperate for some more inspiration.
