Manchester United: Real Madrid plan to sell their best player says Balague

CR7

Gone?

There will of course be ramifications to the latest managerial change at Real Madrid.

After just 7 months in charge the top brass have decided that it’s time for a culling and Rafa Benitez has been replaced by Zinedine Zidane – we don’t give the Frenchman much chance of avoiding the sack for long either.

But the new man will have his own ideas about player acquisitions and sales and Spanish football expert Guilem Balague has said this morning that the club plans to sell ex-Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

He opines:

“Going with the plans Real Madrid have at the moment, which is to get rid of Cristiano, Benzema, perhaps even Kroos, but to leave somebody that can be the head of the project, and that’s Bale.

Speculation about Ronaldo’s future is the subject of polemic and dramatic shifts. Only recently the feeling was that he would stay at the club for the rest of his career.

Better than Best?

Better than Best?

But Balague’s assertive statement would suggest that he may not be welcome, which will surely alert Manchester United once more.

And we can only imagine that Real Madrid would offload Ronaldo for financial reasons. He is still easily their best and most effective player and he will leave a huge hole in the side. But they may decide to cash in while his value is still high.

There would be no lack of interest if Real did indeed decide to sell, with Manchester United and PSG likely to be chief amongst Ronaldo’s suitors.

Beyond that Manchester City and Chelsea would have the finances to bring the Portuguese to England. But you would imagine that Manchester United would be at the front of the queue of English clubs due to previous allegiances.
