Louis van Gaal has told MUTV that Ander Herrera and Phil Jones remain sidelined ahead of the big match of the weekend between 1st and 2nd – Leicester vs Manchester United.
With Manchester United desperately short of goals and confidence right now one of the last places that they would have wanted to go to is the high flying Leicester City, who are having one of the very best seasons in their history.
Much of the success is down to on-fire striker Jamie Vardy, who will be looking to break Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in 10 consecutive league games this weekend.
He will have a tough job given Manchester United’s defensive record.
But it’s in attack where they are really struggling and, regardless of which players Louis van Gaal picks, his system isn’t reaping dividends at the top end of the pitch.
We shall keep you updated throughout the day as the press conference unfolds.
Despite Manchester United’s average for and goal scoring problems they are within reach of top spot. And whatever happens in the other games, Manchester United will end the weekend top of the league if they beat Leicester.
