The good thing about any club managed by Jose Mourinho is that any ‘crisis’ is usually averted quickly.

While Mourinho haters are probably loving Chelsea’s recent plight, the bad times don’t tend to last too long when The Special One is prowling the touchline. That is why he is generally regarded as the best coach in world football – as well as one of the most contentious.

His main focus, at this point, will be to get his current Chelsea crop playing to a higher standard.

But, he will also have one eye on the next transfer period in January – a time when he might look for further reinforcements.

One player who has been linked is left back Jose Gaya.

Having just spent so much money on another left back, Baba Rahman, you wouldn’t expect that to be a priority area.

Yet The Metro writes:

Chelsea have stepped up their interest in Jose Gaya and are considering paying his £36.6million release clause, according to reports in Spain.

The 20 year old Valencia left back hasn’t yet played for the senior Spain side but he has worked his way up through the youth teams with merit and is expected to have a big future.

He played 37 times and scored 2 goals for his club last season and he is seen as the sort of marauding full back that tends to do well in The Premier League.

Chelsea typically buy solid defenders first and foremost but Jose is clearly looking to improve his defence and this guy has an outside chance of joining the club – although we think that centre backs may prove to be more of a priority in the coming windows.

Let’s see the lad in action.
