Big Match

We initially felt that Asmir Begovic had made a very strange choice to move to Chelsea this summer.

Here was a keeper at the top of his game, and who could get into many to most of the teams in The Premier League.

But he decided to move to one of the few clubs where he would undoubtedly be seen as a number 2.

But the hammer blow news that Chelsea’s number one, Thibaut Courtois, will be out for months, has vindicated the decisions of both Begovic and boss Jose Mourinho.

Begovic now has a substantial period of time to show what he can do and even make a play for the number one spot if his form improves after shaky start to his Blues career.

Apart from Courtois, Pedro, Willian and Radamel Falcao have all sustained knocks. Pedro may miss out this weekend but Falcao should be available.

The Blues repaired some of the recent damage with a thumping of Maccabi in The Champions League on Wednesday evening and the reinstatement of Oscar could be a sign of things to come, particularly with the new injuries sustained in creative areas.

In defence we would like to see Baba get another chance down the left with Azpilicueta right. We still think that John Terry can lead the defence if he has the pace and power of someone like Zouma around him.

In the possible absence of Willian and Pedro we are going to play the exciting Kenedy out wide of this one.

So here is our strongest Chelsea XI for the game of the weekend.

Blues fans: let’s have your thoughts.
