Let’s not pretend that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho gets it wrong very often in the market.
He’s not only a top man manager and tactician, but he also has an uncanny knack for signing the right players – in most cases anyway.
Kevin de Bruyne will most definitely be seen as one who got away.
And it looks increasingly likely that Juan Cuadrado will be offloaded by the club after less than one catastrophic year at Chelsea.
The 27 year old has made 15 appearances since his big money move from Fiorentina and Sky Italia says that the player is the subject of interest from Serie A once more.
Sky Italia understand Juventus are interested in signing Cuadrado, who only signed for Chelsea in January from Fiorentina for £26.1m but has appeared to struggle, starting just four Premier League games.
With Pedro this week being signed for exactly the same position on the right wing and Willian already in the squad, it’s difficult to see a future for the Colombian at Chelsea.
We believe that Cuadrado has struggled with the pace and physical side of The Premier League.
He has been too easy to push off the ball and doesn’t seem to have enough power to hold his own against the big defenders in England.
And we actually wonder whether Chelsea’s new signing, Pedro, might initially have the same sorts of problems.
We wait with interest to see what happens there.
But we would be surprised if the window closes with Cuadrado still at Chelsea.
Blues fans: any future for Cuadrado?
