When we looked down the BBC football pundits’ predictions for the season, 22 out of 30 went for Chelsea to win The Premier League title, and just 2 for Manchester City.
What a load of pony, we thought at the time.
Yes, Chelsea are a very strong team. Of course they will be up there. But the league is surely not as cut and dried as all that?
After all, If The Prem is the most competitive league in the world then what hope for a proper title race in any other country? we thought.
As for soccersweep, we have always maintained that, on their day, Manchester City are the strongest team in the league. They had a bit of a shocker last season but they battered West Brom at the weekend and looked miles more convincing than any other team on the first weekend of the season.
With the pace of Sterling added and Sergio Aguero in his absolute pomp, we think that these predictions could come back to haunt the pros at the BBC come May. Perhaps some might already change their selection, given the option?
Anyway, Manchester City not only played well against WBA but looked like they were enjoying themselves.
And if Yaya Toure can have a top season anything is possible for Manchester City.
So here is our best XI for the biggest game of the season so far. Kick off is at 16:00, local time, on Sunday
Manchester City fans: let’s have your elevens
