Tottenham

Highly respected source: Tottenham to enter negotiations to sign forward

Get him in

Class

Oh it’s hotting up nicely for Tottenham now.

The quietly efficient alchemist that is Mauricio Pochettino has been at it again this week – turning rubbish players into gold, a.k.a. money, by selling Vlad Chiriches to Inter.

Sure, Tottenham signed him for £6.7m two years ago. But to get even £3.5m back represents good business considering how poor the lad was at Totters.

All these departures mean that there is now some space in the squad to bring in some proper quality.

And reports in The Telegraph state that the first man on the list is a very talented German.

Tottenham Hotspur to open talks with Stuttgart over Timo Werner

This lad is just 19 but he’s already positively dripping with goals, including 5 in 6 for the Germany U19s and 16 in 18 for the U17s.

He’s still raw of course. But, if he continues on this development trajectory, he could be worth £40m in a few years.

So Tottenham are right to pounce now.

And at just 19, he’s a good fit for a club who will surely use Harry Kane as the main front man when fit next season.

Unlike a high profile forward signing, he won’t expect to play every week.

Instead he can grow into the Tottenham side over time.

Let’s take a look at the lad in a action.

Tottenham fans: an exciting addition?

Levy leaving it to the last minute again, then expects us all to accept a player of potential instead of real quality that will improve the team.
