‘A Huge Club’: Team mate talks about forward’s move to Manchester United who are odds-on to sign him

Gone?

While much of the chatter in the media each day is based on pure speculation, Barcelona’s very own version of Michael Carrick has added credence to the idea that Manchester United are after Pedro by talking about the future of his Spain team mate.

The Manchester Evening News quotes the the brilliant midfielder, Sergio Busquets, as saying of Pedro:

“I have spoken to him but I won’t tell you what he said. It was a private conversation. I would want him to stay, I would love him to stay.

“He is a friend of mine and it will be his final decision. He wants to play more and get more minutes.

The 27 year old Pedro has found it increasingly hard to get a game at Barcelona, particularly since the introduction of the sublime Luis Suarez last season.

And, in the peak years of his career he clearly wants to be central to the plans of his team.

Busquets also talked about Manchester United, which gives us a solid foundation for the tabloid speculation about Louis van Gaal’s interest:

“It is a big club, a huge club, with really good players, now they have made some additions to the team.

“They can win the Champions League so I am relatively worried.

Pedro has been at Barcelona since 2004 and made his way through the ranks to make his first team debut in 2008. He’s played 318 time for his club and scored 98 goals.

Having been there for so long, it would clearly be a wrench to leave the club.

Pedro would ideally stay and start games. But he wouldn’t be able to find too many better alternatives than Manchester United – who, according to SkyBet are now odds-on to sign the lad – and the move seems increasingly likely.

Let’s take another look at the genius in action.

United fans: can Pedro play every week at Manchester United or will he find himself a squad member at Old Trafford too?
