After all the departures from White Hart Lane this summer, isn’t it about time that Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino spent some cash in the transfer market?
With all the midfield departures he may well look to bolster that area of the park.
And another area which could use some improvement is the forward line.
Reports today suggest that Tottenham have made a bid for a brilliant young striker who is playing his trade at Lyon in the French Ligue 1.
The Telegraph states:
Tottenham have reportedly made a £7m bid for highly-rated Lyon forward Clinton Njie.
The 21 year old scored 7 goals and also got 7 assists last season as he made a real impression on the first team with 30 appearances.
He’s also been on fire for his country, Cameroon, since his debut in September of last year with 6 goals in just 11 games.
He’s something of a livewire forward with good pace and adaptability.
He is the sort of modern athlete who can fill in anywhere across the front line and works really hard, to add to his natural talent for finding the onion bag.
We love the signing of young players with great promise because you never quite know how good they can become – the purchase, and subsequent development, of Gareth Bale was surely one of the most exciting in modern times for Tottenham fans and this guy could offer similar fireworks.
Let’s have a look at the lad in action.
Tottenham fans: A perfect purchase or would you rather go for proven class?
