We have spoken already this week about the idea of Tottenham needing more quality out wide.
While Tottenham have decent quality in Lamela and Chadli we still don’t believe that they have really cracked it with their attacking unit.
One excellent player who has oft been linked is back on the radar according to reports. The Mirror mentions:
Tottenham are ready to reignite their interest in Kevin Mirallas with a bid of around £7million for the Everton wideman.
At 27 Mirallas has played 40 times for Belgium at a time when the squad is more competitive than ever. He’s a measured and efficient player who doesn’t charge in or give the ball away cheaply.
We saw him play for Everton at Tottenham last year and he was one of the best players on the park as Everton dominated the game but eventually lost to an Emmanuel Adebayor strike.
He’s an intelligent footballer who makes things happen. The one slight drawback is his lack of explosive pace off the mark but his ball control and creativity are his strong suits.
We think that Mirallas would be a decent addition to many a squad. We would also like to see Mauricio Pochettino add some genuine pace to the flanks this summer but that shouldn’t necessarily hinder a move for a player who can operate out wide or behind the front man.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Tottenham fans: is this the sort of signing that could improve the first team or simply deepen the squad?
