Yes Please MP: Tottenham keen to sign one of the best players in Europe

In the summer months, when hyperbole rains down on all us sports fans, you might sense some exaggeration in the title.

Not a bit of it. There are a handful of players in Europe who we believe are about to become superstars, but are currently flying under the radar. Felipe Anderson at Lazio. Aymeric Laporte at Athletic Bilbao. And, most certainly Geoffrey Kondogbia of Monaco.

He only moved to the principality in 2013 but there is a continued sense that Monaco are trying to cut their wage bill and make their club more sustainable. Tottenham have been credited with an interest in the player this week and he could be a masterful signing for Mauricio Pochettino. The Mirror states:

Tottenham join Arsenal in transfer chase for Geoffrey Kondogbia of Monaco

Kondogbia - a special talent

Kondogbia – a special talent

Kondgobia reminds us a bit of Patrick Vieira. He’s almost the perfect modern footballer in that he possesses so many vital qualities for the modern game. He’s essentially a centre back but can play equally well as an anchor man in the midfield. He’s got the technical ability which would put many a forward to shame. He’s strong as an ox and a great athlete. He’s also really quick and at 22 has a decade of top level football in him.

If Kondogbia does move on this summer the recipient of his talent will be very happy indeed. If Tottenham can make this their marquee purchase then they would certinaly be a stronger team through the middle next season.

Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Tottenham fans: keen?
