Ok, it’s more than likely that Louis van Gaal will decorate his squad with younger players this summer. With seasoned performers like Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao looking a little one-paced up top, it might come as something of a surprise if the Manchester United boss decided to go for another veteran striker.
But for some players you have to make exceptions. Henrik Larsson was vital for Manchester United during his cameo spell at the club and Edwin van Der Saar has to go down as one of United’s better players of all time.
And, with news that an unnamed English club has made a move for want away Juve striker Carlos Tevez, some may wonder whether an unlikely reunion with Manchester United could be on.
Sky Sports reports:
Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has been offered the chance to return to England by an unknown Premier League club, according to Sky sources.
But Sky Sports understand that club is not Liverpool, despite press reports suggesting Brendan Rodgers could tie up a deal for the former Manchester City and Manchester United star this week.
Many Manchester United fans felt that letting Tevez go was an error of judgement. Certainly we felt is was a big mistake on the part of Fergie and Manchester City reaped huge rewards of his departure.
And while we always bang in about buying youngsters, we think that Tevez would be welcomed back with open arms to Manchester United – not least because he still has also much to offer.
He’s still got the superb engine and has much more finesse in front of goal now than when he left Manchester United. At 31 he’s no spring chicken but could be a one season wonder for the club before he possible returns to see out his career in his homeland.
Manchester United need to spend heavily on defence and midfield this summer so perhaps the odd bargain will also be required up top. With only a year left on his contract at Juve, who better than Tevez?

Comment:I’d love Tevez’s return. He still has a lot to offer even at that age.United,as a big club, should not lose players at their peak like we did with Jaap Stam,Beckham,Ronaldo,Pogba, etc.Meanwhile,we fail to get our prized targets like Bale,Ronaldinho then. When are we going to show our muscle?
