Louis van Gaal has been linked with some of the biggest A-listers in the game for potential transfers this summer.

But The Times reports that Manchester United may make a move for a lesser known star of La Liga in an effort to bolster their rather thin defensive midfield this summer.

Krychowiak has a £21m buyout clause in his contract at Seville, though Arsenal would still have to move quickly to secure his services as Manchester United have also been monitoring him.

We all know how long it takes old Wenger to pull his finger out in the transfer market. So you can assume that if Manchester United really want him then they shouldn’t have too much of a problem.

At 25 he’s played 24 times for Poland (one goal) and been a revelation in the defensive midfield for Seville since joining the club last summer.

He may take some time to settle in The Premier league but this could work perfectly for Manchester United who will surely be hoping to get at last one more top year out of Michael Carrick before he goes into decline. The Englishman is 34 in July but has been one of Manchester United’s best players for the last few years – his last campaign possibly being his best.

Let’s have a look at the lad in a action. Manchester United fans: worth a nibble?
