If reports are to be believed Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is focusing on his attacking options at the start of this summer.
Anthony Martial is supposedly in talks with the club as the 19 year old striker looks to move up the ladder.
And other reports suggest that Tottenham are also in a battle for a forward at the other end of the experience scale:
….he could be joined on his way to England from Paris St-Germain by Ezequiel Lavezzi, the twinkle-toed Argentinian whose future appears to involve a three-way choice involving Valencia, Tottenham and Liverpool
We have always really liked this lad. Not entirely dissimilar to Teddy Sheringham in that he is such an intelligent player who effortlessly finds space between the opposition defence and midfield and causes all sorts of problems.
His best position is at number ten which would bring Christian Eriksen’s role into focus. But players this good can usually work together and Pochettino should be able to shoehorn Lavezzi and Eriksen in behind Harry Kane in the Tottenham XI.
At any rate it’s encouraging to hear that Tottenham are looking at forwards. Harry Kane was superb last season but he needs help if Spurs are to last the course in the next campaign.
Let’s have a look at Lavezzi in action. Tottenham fans: would he fit into the first eleven or be more of a squad player?
