After a quiet year in the market Tottenham will surely kick again with some important acquisitions this summer, to a team which is good but has much room for improvement.
Every department of the the squad could be sharpened and Tottenham look as if they particularly need to add another brilliant defender and top class midfielder.
As for the later Tottenham have been linked to a Portuguese star in latest reports. The Sun says:
SPURS will scrap with Southampton over Portugal star Adrien Silva.
The Sporting Lisbon midfielder says he is looking for a Premier League move.
The 26 year was something of a late developer and only made his debut for Portugal last year. He was actually born in France but has now turned out twice for The Portuguese.
He’s had a decent career at Sporting Lisbon, playing 159 times and scoring 22 goals. But he did spend three seasons out on loan during his eight year stint at Sporting, at Maccabi Haifa and Academica. But there he kicked on and is now seen as a prominent member of the Lisbon side who can also pop up with important goals.
Tottenham currently have a lot of midfielders on their books but, last season, they increasingly looked towards the youthful talents of Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason.
We think that these two have shown great promise but it would be nice to see a top quality addition to the midfield to add depth to the squad. Whether Silva is that man remans to be seen.
Let’s have a look at him in action. Tottenham fans: worth a nibble?
