From time to time we go out of our way to highlight a talent that we believe will become a household name but isn’t there yet. Like backing a colt who’s currently a long shot but you know has real promise.
One such player who keeps popping up in the tabloids is the brilliant young Brazilian midfielder Felipe Anderson.
The 22 year old has been somewhat overshadowed by the efforts of Paul Pogba at Juventus this season but he’s very much admired in Serie A after some match winning performances and 10 goals in 45 appearances for Lazio since he moved to the club in 2013. He’s a blur of energy, smooth technique and pace who has played in midfield and across the front line for Lazio – that’s 5 positions in total.
He looks like a total bargain, being similar in many ways to Pogba except for his likely price tag which, while surely big, would be dwarfed by that of the Frenchman.
But this is a very exciting player indeed and one that Manchester United would be well advised to invest in before his stock rises further.
