Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward met with Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema’s agent earlier this week.
Woodward was seen with Karim Djaziri at The Savoy hotel in London on Wednesday evening amid reports United could lodge a £40m bid for the 27-year-old, who is on holiday in New York.
Manchester United probably need to bolster their ageing front line. Wayne Rooney is in his prime but has arguably lost a little of the electric pace that he brought to Manchester United.
RvP looks a little tired and Falcao has gone. This leaves James Wilson who is too raw to be expected to take too much of the goal scoring burden next season.
So a move for Karim Benzema seems entirely possible. And he would currently add zip and power to the strike force. At 27 he’s in his prime and is an intelligent and ruthless marksman who Manchester United have been keen on for years.
