For a publication which big-headedly claims to know EVERYTHING about Manchester United – tactics, arrivals, departures and even scorelines – we are somewhat confused about the current plans for the forward line.
What we do know is that Radamel Falcao will leave the club. RvP could follow and James Wilson may even go out on loan to get some vital experience.
We also believe that Wayne Rooney will be playing up front next season. And if Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal wants to continue with the 4-3-3 formation that has brought him so much joy down the years, then there won’t be room for another A-list starter at centre forward. Instead we think that LvG might be tempted to buy a brilliant younger player with great promise – someone like Alexandre Lacazette.
But Manchester United keep getting linked with A-list forwards! We have been talking lots recently about Karim Benzema and reports today suggest that Gonzalo Higuain will attempt to force a move to England this summer after just one year at Napoli. The Express reports:
Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain demands £37m move to Man Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal
It is believed that Higuain’s brother Nicolas is set to meet Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis tomorrow in order to force a move to England, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all said to be interested.
We think that lots of top clubs are looking for strikers this summer and that Higuain will move on. Whether it is to Manchester United remains to be seen. But Louis van Gaal surely won’t want to have another season with a hugely expensive new signing sitting on the bench – it smacks of bad judgement on the part of the boss. So perhaps another change of formation is the most likely course of action.
Manchester United fans: Is Higuain good enough for United?

Rooney, Lacazette, Wilson and Henriquez as strikers will do us for the next 5 years.
