Manchester United are said to have been on the track of talented teenager Tyler Walker. The Mirror reports this weekend:

Arsenal and Manchester United monitoring Forest youngster Tyler Walker

Rookie Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker has been watched by scouts from Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Son of England legend Des, Tyler is a far more attacking player who scored a hat-trick in an FA Youth tie last month against West Brom.

He is said to have the same sort of explosive pace as his father but is plying his trade as an attacker. Manchester United are reportedly one of the clubs said to have scouted the lad of late.

His current club, Nottingham Forest are keen to hold on to the player. That’s of course understandable. But, if his form continues apace, the best thing that they can do is sign him up to a new contract which will guard against a low bid that doesn’t fully represent his value.

The fact that he is the son of a great will naturally lead to increased interest but he does look like a very interesting prospect at 18.

Any deal for Manchester United would probably see him loaned back to another club, possibly Forest, to get some more experience. Add that to the sell on clause that Nottingham Forest will surely include in any future sale and they will be well compensated for the player if he does succumb to the modern ways of football and end up at an elite club.
