German news publication Bild has reported that English clubs, including Manchester United, have been given a major boost in their pursuit of the sensational Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus, as Bayern Munchen have pulled out of the running for his signature.

Bayern Munchen’s recent scouting policy seems largely to have consisted of looking at Borussia’s squad list and ordering from it like a restaurant menu. But Bild says that it could be a fight between the Premier League club’s for the services of one of the most sought after players in Europe.

And what a player. At just 25, Reus is a footballer who would improve every single team in Europe. That he hasn’t already moved for big bucks is possibly down to his absence from The World Cup through injury.

But he would surely have wowed the world there with his ball control, penetration and general efficiency.

He’s a wonderfully two-footed player, can perform equally well in midfield, as a winger, or a second striker and scores goals for fun – 47 in 99 for Borussia Dortmund, 41 in 109 for Borussia Mönchengladbach and 7 in 23 for Germany.

This is most definitely a player who Manchester United would want in their team and we could see him being sublime on the right flank.

Let’s take a look at him in action. Manchester United fans: perfect addition?
