Tottenham haven’t been too busy in this window and it looks as if departures could be the order of the day.
Latest reports state that Tottenham have had talks with PSG over the possibility of the French club taking Emmanuel Adebayor on loan until the end of the season. The Daily Mail reports:
Paris St Germain have discussed the possibility of taking Emmanuel Adebayor on loan from Tottenham.
PSG are one for the few clubs that could comfortably afford his reported £140,000 a week wages and Tottenham fans would surely love to get the journeyman off the books.
You could argue that he was Spurs’ best striker last season, as he weighed in with 14 goals in 25 games. He’s been a decent player for the club but, still only 30, he doesn’t always look as if his heart is in the current project. Perhaps he feels marginalised by the emergence of the brilliant Harry Kane this season.
Either way there has always been a feeling that this guy is more of a hired gun who comes in to solve scoring problems short term, before moving on to another big contract.
Whether Tottenham have time to bring another forward in, should they let Adebayor go, is open to debate. There was speculation last week about a move for the mercurial Danny Ings – a very different type of player to the man from Togo but potentially more effective.
Tottenham fans: would you like to get rid at this point or keep him as cover until the end of the season?
