Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Fabian Delph and the latest news will come a fillip as Aston Villa are expected to sell the player in order to avoid losing him for nothing in the summer.
Delph has just six months left on his contract and The Mirror reports that if Villa receive a bid of £4m for the reported Tottenham target then they will do business:
Aston Villa will sell Fabian Delph this month – but only if they get £4million.
Tottenham and Liverpool are keen on the England midfielder who is out of contract at the end of the season and has refused a new deal at Villa Park.
You would have to imagine that Delph would be a good addition for Tottenham. He’s a really busy player who adds dynamism and speed to the midfield. He’s got a bit of everything as a player – industry, fleet feet, passing and shooting ability.
It’s difficult to know for sure exactly what his best position is but that also counts in his favour as he could do a number of jobs across the midfield or out wide for Tottenham.
Delph has good experience having played 58 times for Leeds and 98 times for Aston Villa. But, still only 25, he still has lots of room for improvement.
Let’s have a look at the lad in action. Tottenham fans: if you only signed Delph between now and the end of the window would it be seen as a successful January?

I would definitely cash in now for £4m However how do we know Lerner would use the money to replace him or would he “trouser” it like he seems to do with most of the T.V. money! Swap him for Holtby or
Townsend and let him go now. Too many players in our dressing room who appear to wish they were somewhere else.
