Matter of time

After a period dripping with speculation about the future of Radamel Falcao there was a more positive end to the week for all concerned.

Despite the views of some, we think that the lad had a game where he showed genuine hunger and application. He didn’t score but he clearly has the right attitude and desperately wants to succeed at Manchester United. His body language throughout the 90 confirmed that.

His position at the club stills seems precarious but, if he now stays injury free, were think that in a couple of months the idea of United not wanting him will be laughable. Falcao is about to explode.

And the player himself reckons that the injuries are behind him.

‘It was 90 very important minutes for me. I need to play and I am very happy that I did. Obviously, I really hope to score soon, but the opportunities will come. I am playing without any fitness problems.’

The main man, Louis van Gaal, was also clearly pleased with his big name striker.

‘I was very pleased,’ he said. ‘Every player gets his time, no matter who. We’ll wait and see.

This is a Manchester United career that we still feel can fall into place. At 28 Falcao doesn’t have a year or two to settle in. He needs to deliver now if Manchester United are going to spend megabucks to sign him permanently. But our guess is that he’ll come up trumps.

Manchester United fans: Are you still concerned about the output of Falcao or is it just a matter of time before we see an avalanche of goals from he lad?
